So exams are over, and now it’s time to celebrate. The question is how; not because you can’t figure out how to celebrate but because there’s so much choice. So many amazing ways to spend your free time, and that’s why I am here to tell you, you don’t have to ‘decide’. You are swimming in an ocean of freedom now, and the only ways to cross it is to do all the things. Leave no area of freedom untouched before you have to return to uni or enter the adult post-grad life. Thus, I’ve decided to tell you three of my favourite ways to celebrate.
-
Brunch
Any of you who have been following my posts for a while now will know that I’m pretty obsessed with Brunch – and so for me, after exams, it’s one of the first things I do. After three intensive weeks of home cooking and no brunch, I am raring to treat myself to some crushed avocado on sourdough, topped with halloumi and a perfectly poached egg. Every year, after our last exam, I and my friends always go straight out for lunch/brunch – it signifies out freedom.
It’s just such a great way to celebrate the end of exams – Brunching has a very summer vibe about it. It’s just you and some friends, sitting around a table eating summery food and planning what you can do for the rest of the summer. It allows you all to settle into the lightness and carefree-ness that the three weeks of exams deprived you of – but with good food, and maybe mimosas.

London
What better place to revel in summer than London? Every year, after my exams finish, within two or three days you will find me in London. For me, it just feels like freedom. The energy, the buzz and the rush of London swarms around you, under the heavy sun and pale blue sky – and you just get to sit back and drink it all in, encapsulated in your bubble of freedom.
Plus, London is a field-day for celebration. Brunch is in abundance; whether you want healthy avocado toast or a stack of glorious pancakes, they have it all. Or maybe you want roof top bars, either completely open or on the forty-second floor of a skyscraper, gazing down at the city. Or maybe you want to boat across Hyde park, losing yourself in the wisteria hysteria that grips London every summer. Or maybe you want to eat a stone baked pizza, sitting alongside the River Thames, watching boats idle pass the towering shard.
Either way, London is a perfect way to celebrate your freedom.

Drinks
I mean it’s obvious, right? Drinks. How can you not? Pop a bottle of Champaign. Mix up some margaritas. Either way, drinks are a sure-fire way to celebrate exams. And I don’t mean heading down to the local pub – that’s not really my scene – not do I mean going clubbing. I mean finding a nice bar, where they’re going to make good quality cocktails and mixers. Just wait for the sun to begin to dip, when the sky is a mixture of pink, blue and orange, before heading down to a bar with your friends. And the sip G&T’s to your success.
