Hi all, this is my first article in the Management blog. In my last study abroad blog post, I wrote about how my year abroad in Denmark had come to an end. But my new journey starts here.
In this article, I’ll explain a bit about what I’m up to at the moment, as well as what I look forward to doing in my final year at the University of Leicester.
Last weekend, I visited Leicester for the first time since I left for Denmark over one year ago. It seemed a bit strange — almost as if I’d never left. But it was good to go back.
I’ll be heading back to Leicester again for my final year at the end of September. But for now, I’m being kept busy working at my summer internship in the property industry in London. Click here to read my article about the importance of getting work experience through internships.
I’m looking forward to joining some societies in my final year. Leicester Uni has got many different societies on offer. There’s something for everyone.
I intend to join a fun society, such as the Curry Society for social events. And I’m interested in the idea of doing something entrepreneurial, so I would like to network and to gain relevant experience. Enactus would help me there. Last of all, I would like to do some sprint training, or maybe join a team sport.
Of course I don’t want to do too much. After all, my studies will have to come first, and I’ll be spending plenty of time in the library. I will have to brush up on my maths skills before I start term, because I am out of practice.
I am looking forward to my final year at the University of Leicester. It will fly past – just as my year abroad did. But I’ll do my best to work hard and to enjoy it. I’ll keep you updated on the highs and the lows.
