Hi all, this blog post contains a quick update on what I’m up to at the moment. I’ve finally finished all of my January exams, and I’m pretty happy with how they went. I’m relieved that they’re over, now.
Right after I finished my last exam, I thought of the famous scene from Braveheart, when William Wallace, who is played by Mel Gibson, defiantly screams ‘Freedom!’ Warning — this scene contains spoilers.
A while ago, Leicester Uni was debating whether to change the structure of degrees. I believe that the majority of votes were against making the proposed changes. One of these changes would have involved having exams before the Christmas break. I personally think that this would be a better approach, because although there would be more pressure to study during term time, the material would still be fresh in my mind. By doing the exams after Christmas, there is more time to revise, but it makes the Christmas holidays somewhat less enjoyable.
My lessons will start on Monday. I’m looking forward to getting started with my new modules. This semester is the final push. In addition to my studies, I am especially focused on careers at the moment, and so this is an exciting time for me.
