Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing great! If you are done with examinations, congratulations! And if you still have a few more to go, I wish you all the best! I sincerely apologize for not posting anything last month. I was busy with the submission of two essays, examinations and packing all my things to keep in storage for the summer. I had been very homesick for the past couple of months and I am very happy to be back home. I came around three weeks ago and I have been busy with Ramadan, relaxing and spending time with my family since. I am super excited to get back to blogging now! I have a few things planned for my holidays this year and I am going to share them with you.
So this was a last minute decision. I decided to do an internship over the summer just two months ago. I applied over a month ago and luckily got in and I’ll be starting soon after Eid! I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I have worked before but an internship is something new. If you are in your first year or have finished with your second year like I have, I highly recommend applying for an internship. Now is the best time. An internship helps you gain a real world experience and looks fantastic on your CV. If you too are doing an internship over the summer, I wish you all the best! I hope you make the most of this opportunity and excel at every task you take up!
b) Get in shape
The summer holidays is a fantastic opportunity to work out and get in shape. I was quite heavy when I first came to Leicester. But I have lost quite a bit of weight since, mainly because I walk a lot. I want to get a little more fit now. I plan to eat healthier, drink a lot more water (it is crucial to stay hydrated!) as well as exercise at least once every two days if not more. Adopting a healthier lifestyle is not only beneficial for your body but has proven to help academically as well. A healthy mind equals better grades!
c) Embrace the bookworm in me
Ever since I started my course, I have lost my touch with reading, mainly due to coursework, seminar preparations and part-time work (ahem I can be a little lazy too). I love reading and have always been a bookworm. My mum got me a couple of great books to read during her recent trip to Mumbai. I can’t wait to start reading them!
d) Thinking about my dissertation
I thought I had a topic in mind until I chucked it in the bin. I want to write on something I am passionate about and will truly enjoy working on. I know what I want to write about but a lot of research is yet to be done. The summer holidays are a perfect way to utilize time in order to prepare for your dissertation and I aim to do just that.
What are your summer plans? Let me know in the comment section below!
Peace out! 🙂
