This was the first time I was actively a part of the Freshers’ Fair and the feeling was overwhelming and that of regret at the same time. I regret not taking up this wonderful opportunity in my first year and the first half of my second year.
Being part of the Students’ Union gives you the chance to grow and develop as a person and be part of and work within a community that is run by the students themselves. Whether you are a committee member on one or more of the societies or are simply working at the Union Diner, The Food Market, The Point or Starbucks, the experience is truly rewarding. It gives you the chance to make friends, to gain innumerable transferable skills and most importantly, to make a difference.
The Students’ Union has everything to offer. Whether you are into sports, charity, health and wellbeing, food, environment sustainability, film, music, dance, languages…there is something for everyone! And if you need something extra, you are more than welcomed to start your own society! It’s a wonderful thing to put down on your CV.
Being part of the Students’ Union is what makes your university experience an extraordinary one. So head over to their website, get involved and live your extraordinary experience.
Stay safe and have a fun weekend.
Peace out! 🙂
