It’s that time of year where the end is in sight but you’ve still got a long way to get there. I’m coming to the end of my final year which means dissertation, essays and exams to think about. It’s especially hard at the moment when most lectures and seminars aren’t on due to strikes so we don’t have much structure in the day. I know I’m going to have to work very hard from now until May in order to achieve what I want.
This can seem daunting and it’s easy to feel stressed out but I’m trying to stay positive and motivated. Thinking about the summer is really helping with this. Especially as I know I can relax and have a well-deserved break which will be even better if I’ve worked hard and got results I’m proud of. I’ve been making plans such as festivals and holidays and looking forward to just chilling out at home with family and friends. I just keep telling myself it’s only a few months away!
I’m also not being too harsh on myself, giving myself days off if I know it’s what I need, eating well and doing things which I enjoy. After all, this is the last few months I’ll be at uni so it’s important to make the most of it! Luckily I’ve got things to look forward to such as Netball Varsity, Sports Awards and Easter. I like the feeling of getting work done during the day and rewarding it with a meal out or a movie night. I’m also a sucker for an early night – being well rested is key for my productivity.
It’s important to look after yourself and to remember that your best work will come when you’re feeling positive! Keep going, we’re nearly there 🙂
