Moving away from home can be stressful you might have wondered ‘what would I do with myself?’ The thought of being alone can be daunting. To be honest the majority of students at university who I’ve spoken to, have admitted the first few days were the hardest.
However, having comfortable accommodation can help to relax any nervousness you may have. I’ve created list below of a few things to pack with you, so you don’t forget, to help you feel more at home.
- Bring your determination, remember how hard you have worked to be here and know you deserve to be where you are.
- Make sure to pack all your confidence, feeling alone may bring down your confidence but remember to take pride within yourself. Remind yourself not to get caught up about how other people see you, being yourself is enough.
- Motivation, this is sometimes really slippery so make sure you wrap it up tightly, you don’t want that to go missing half way during the year.
If you did come here looking for room decoration advice, there is often the opportunity to buy posters on campus, they have lots of different designs to pick from so you are likely to find one that fits nicely in your room.
Additionally, house plant sales have previously taken place on campus, so don’t worry if you aren’t happy with how homely your accommodation appears to be, as you will have so many opportunities to decorate as the year progresses.
Good luck to all the freshers joining university this year!
