Your personal statement is something that will have, many drafts. I remember at my sixth form I was told that it had to be 25% you and 75% about the subject. They say this to remind you to show the passion that you have towards your subject. If you are having difficulties starting I would recommend you draw up a spider diagram and write out the things you would like to mention regarding yourself and your chosen subject, then with this foundation you can rank the information according to importance.
Once you have this information you need to organise it, I’ve combined a list of a few useful recourses that can help you.
This video was made recently by the University therefore, the information shared is very directly relevant, especially if you are considering applying to the University of Leicester.
This video may be really helpful as there are 4 students sharing and discussing their techniques used during their personal statement process. Something really useful I picked up from this video was to always question your statements, this is to insure that you aren’t just telling the reader information, instead you are showing them.
What better place to seek personal statement support than from UCAS itself, they have seen plenty of personal statements and now have created online resources free for us to use, with all the questions they expect you to have covered.
Good luck with your application!
