“Where have you been Toby?!” I hear you cry. Well, never fear, I’m still alive, I’ve just been a very busy bee lately. As the title of this blog suggests, I have GRADUATED. That’s scary, isn’t it? It feels like 3 years of my life have just slipped away before my eyes. That being said, I am now the proud owner of a Mathematics degree and can therefore call myself “Toby – BSc” it’s got a nice ring to it, hasn’t it? But what this also means is that I’m done at the University of Leicester and therefore after this I shan’t be blogging any more. In case you were wondering, my plan for post-graduation is to do teacher training; I’m going to be doing a PGCE in Mathematics in London so this time next year I could be a fully fledged teacher waiting to start work in September, now THAT’S scary.
Graduation itself was a very pleasant occasion (disregarding how tired I was and that I felt a bit silly in my robes) and it was great to see all of my friends graduating. After about 45 minutes it was my turn to graduate officially so I went up on stage and shook the Vice-Chancellor’s hand and felt a little famous. It was good to be able to sit down and no longer having to worry about tripping up on stage or something worse. It was also interesting to discover that the royal family of Brunei were attending my graduation because the sultan’s daughter was graduating (the sultan of Brunei used to be one of the richest men in the world, needless to say I’m a little jealous).
