Fireworks night, diwali and the Christmas light switch on have all happened in the last few weeks and it’s made it feel very festive- I can’t quite believe Christmas is on its way already, and I’m already worrying about shopping for everyone!
This year, we went to a big fireworks department in one of the many parks in Leicester, organised by the Council, which was quite impressive, but nothing compared to what happened just over a week later, with all of the diwali celebrations.
You might know that every year Leicester hosts one of the biggest Diwali events outside of India, so if you’re around, it’s definitely worth checking out. I have been unable to go the last two years, so I was really happy to get the chance to go, and see the enormous fireworks display and other entertainment.
I love the wide array of different cultural events in Leicester, as there’s always something different going on. This weekend, I also went to see the Christmas light switch on in the town centre, which featured music, and a rather nice snow machine to make it feel really wintery. It made everything feel so festive, and town looks so pretty with all of the lights up and the 2 enormous christmas trees.
