It almost seems like Christmas is upon us already, but being a student, there’s a lot to get done before I can think about going home and wrapping presents and seeing family.
All of our modules have group projects in for this Friday, including a poster about the properties of a particular polynomial, and a revision sheet for our number theory module. I’ve enjoyed working in groups this year, as it’s a great chance to see how other people work, and split work up so that you can make it really good. There seems a lot more of this in a degree than at school, and you do have to be a lot more reliant on other members of your group.
It seems like we’ve also come to an end of some of our modules, and are starting on revision. At Leicester, we have two sets of exams throughout the year- January and May/June, so the exams for this semester are just around the corner. Of course, most revision is expected to be done in your own time, but many lecturers finish their teaching a little early and give some ideas on what best to revise and give our some mock exam papers. I really need to start revising for this January’s exams so that I can have some free time over the holiday, as this January I will have 3 exams each worth 80 or 90% of my module mark.
I like the way that it still is busy right up until the end of term though, and I can’t wait for next week when I will have society Christmas meals and end of year social events to look forward to.
