Exams are officially over for me, and just like that I’ve realised that I only have 11 weeks left at Leicester. Like all the others, this semester is going to fly by, and in a few months time it’ll be graduation time (say whaaa)!
I think I’m in good standing with my degree classification right now, however you can never be too sure. So this semester is going to be me trying as hard as I can to get the best degree I can. I’m going to try to be the best in my remaining 3 modules, work as much as I can, study when I’m supposed to be partying and basically, kick butt. I always tend to do really well with my schedule at the beginning of the semester but then towards the end I get lazy. But that’s not going to happen this semester, I can see the finish line and I’m not going to give up, even if it means crawling over it.
I’ve been thinking of a few ways I could make sure this final semester was my best semester, and naturally, I’d thought I’d share them with you:
- Set aside more time to study. Usually I give myself an hour or two a week to go over lectures, but this semester I’m going to up that to 3 or 4 to make sure I really understand everything and so I’m better prepared when it comes to exams.
- Study in groups. I’ve always been one to work alone, but last semester I came across this thing called group study (it must be like, a new thing cause I’ve never heard of it). It really helped increase my understanding of things (mostly because I was the one explaining it to other people), but it was also a great place to go to when I needed help. So this semester I’m definitely going to continue on with booking a study room a few times a week, and meeting up with my peers.
- Stay organised. If you’ve been following my posts for a while now, you might have picked up on the fact that I love to organise and plan stuff. The key to ensuring you stay on top of everything (like having 3 jobs, working out, building a business, being a departmental rep, attending countless meetings and training sessions, studying and having some sort of social life), is to stay organised. My diary never leaves my sight, and tbh, I don’t know what I would do without it.
- Stay healthy. I became a vegetarian in September. And since I have, not only have I seen the weight drop off, but I’ve also been more conscious of what I eat (except during the past few weeks…but it was exams so it’s okay). I can honestly say that when I eat right and work out a few times a week, I definitely feel like my best self, so if I want to smash this semester, I need to make sure my tummy is filled with the good stuff. Healthy body, healthy mind!
