First of all, I know this is late, but better later than never. So, Happy New year everyone! I hope your 2014 is fantastic and that all your hopes, dreams and aspirations come true.
Earler this year I’ve been seeing a lot of talk on social media about “new year, new me”, but I always think why wait on the new year to improve yourself? Why not change yourself for the better now? It is my belief that if there is something about yourself that you don’t like, you shouldn’t wait until the new year to change it. You should put all your efforts to fix it immediately to always try to be a better person.
We should always have goals, hopes and dreams that we aspire to and should always try to make ourselves better. We should always be willing to improve ourselves despite whether it’s the beginning, middle or end of the year. We all should seek to be the best person we can be. With that being said my number one goal this year is of course to complete my master’s degree. I’ve been working hard and continuously pushing myself to do my best and learn as much as possible to successfully complete my programme.
Anyway, the past few days have been rather hectic. Of course, as a student that is employed full-time I often have a very hectic schedule that I’m sure many can relate too. In efforts to be prepared for the research of my final dissertation, the past few days, I have been preparing my ethics and consent forms to begin my research process. For my research, I decided that I would do interviews, focus groups and participant observation, a task that is not proving simple and seems to have some ethical implications that I’m currently trying to figure out how to work around. However, I’m truly excited about starting my research process and I think it’s the part of my dissertation that I’m looking forward to most, so let’s hope it all goes well!
Nikita
