Following my previous post on becoming involved and taking advantage of the careers development service. You may have already heard of the Leicester Award, a personal skills development programme offered to all students.
During my second year I completed the Leicester Award, ‘Online Networking and Employability.’ Through Blackboard activities and group discussions this is a great online course, which is beneficial in understanding how you can build an online personal brand to increase your employability. The Leicester Award programme offers a diverse category of activities that can be recognised on your Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR).
Here are 3 benefits of taking part in the Leicester Award:
- Get recognised for extra activities
- Gain further transferable skills, which employers are always looking for.
- Receive further advice on career goals.
The deadline for the Leicester award is this Friday, don’t miss out! If you do end up taking part in the programme let me know how it goes.
