The Media and Communication department are holding two industry seminar series, an opportunity to meet and interact with industry experts. The seminars will offer students an insight into their experience working in journalism and television production.
The first talk will be by Dan Parry, a TV producer working on factual dramas. Dan Parry is also an author of historical books and a former BBC journalist. If you are interested in this area of work this is definitely a great opportunity to gain insight into what it takes to become a TV producer. It might also be beneficial if you are in your second year and will be taking the ‘Television Production’ module in semester 2.
The second talk will be by award-winning journalist Mark Nicholls. This seminar will reflect on his experiences covering conflict in Afghanistan, Iraq and the Persian Gulf. Students also taking the module ‘The Production of News’ or ‘Journalism Studies’ may find this particular seminar interesting.
To find out more information regarding these talks take a look on the Media and Communication Facebook page.
I hope you enjoy the talks and find them beneficial!
