One of the things I love about Leicester are the many dessert parlours the city has, so I thought I would share some of my favourite places to eat cake, gelato and have a good catch up with friends.
Madison’s
During my first year this became the place where my friends and I would always go to, as it was a 5-minute walk from our student accommodation Opal Court. Madison’s in my opinion has the nicest gelato; I would recommend the mango sorbet or the Ferrero Rocher gelato and a slice of chocolate brownie. (You can thank me later :D)
Here is the address if you fancy visiting: 128 London Rd, Leicester LE2 1EB
Bru:
Every time I walk past Bru I cant help but notice how popular it is. Bru is an independent business, with a lovely and friendly team of staff. It’s the perfect place to visit for a little treat! Bru are constantly developing new menus and trying out new ideas. They already have a wide selection of cakes and gelato in many flavours. So take a visit and enjoy.
Address: 20-22 Granby St, City Centre LE1 1DE
Heavenly Desserts:
From its beautifully modernised interior to the well-presented desserts this is a place you need to visit. Quite a few societies hold there socials here as a way to get to know new members, so it is definitely a popular spot for University of Leicester students.
Heavenly Desserts is definitely worth the visit if you want something sweet!
Address: 139 London Rd, Leicester LE2 1EF
Gelato Village:
I haven’t been here yet but plan to go very soon! This ice cream parlour has freshly made gelato and is located in a quite area of the city centre. Gelato Village looks like the perfect place to catch up on your weekly readings whilst enjoying some gelato.
Address: 2 Saint Martins Square, Leicester LE1 5DF
I hope you visit one (or two) of these places and enjoy stuffing your face with some sweet treats!
