This is already proving to be my most difficult and stressful time at University of Leicester, as I a currently in the middle of completing my dissertation research and other module deadliness. I thought I would provide some advice for students who are also going through the same thing:
- Set yourself realistic targets: you may have deadlines for other modules which are back to back therefore setting yourself targets will allow you to complete assignments before the deadline, to allow you to focus on your dissertation deadline.
- Don’t compare yourself: This is something we all probably do especially with conducting your dissertation research and what stage you’re at. Try not to compare yourself with other students as everyone works at a different pace, instead focus on sticking to your own personal targets.
- Have regular contact with your personal tutor/dissertation supervisor: they are there to help and assist you so make sure you have regular meetings or send an email to let them know how your research is going.
Thinking about the word count might be daunting but just write a little each day towards your research and keep on top of your personal targets.
Good Luck with your dissertation!
