I have been looking back on my four week trip to Australia and New Zealand and I feel very blessed to have been able to travel to such beautiful places!
One thing that I noticed a lot as I was in Australia was the healthy living lifestyle they have over there! I do think that in the UK the awareness of healthy eating has been improving (thanks to people like Jamie Oliver) however in Australia it is on a whole different level. There are lots of TV adverts promoting healthy diets and exercise and a lot of work in schools to teach children this from an early age. There’s also a massive hype on SOY chips (which are delicious) and chia balls ( a healthy protein ball which I had never heard of before Australia) and everywhere you turn there are fresh juice bars!
I was really inspired when my 8 year old nephew was telling me how much he prefers carrot sticks to chocolate bars as a snack. I think the UK could learn from countries like Australia -it seems the more the issue is drummed in, the more it becomes a natural part of people’s lives.
