Update on the junior doctor contracts fight

Through months of protests, official strikes, thousands of signatures on the petitions and my face book newsfeed being completely bombarded with posts, the government has decided to officially impose the changes to the junior doctor contracts.

Now the government will remove banding of junior doctors pay, increase their hours and only pay reduced enhanced rates on Sundays and between 10 pm and 7am each day. This changes the expectations for junior doctors completely! Junior doctors are already known for being tired and making mistakes due to this tiredness. I cannot express how this new imposition saddens me and also scares me for the safety of patients.
