Hello, I’m Katie and I’m thrilled to be taking over the Modern Languages blog from the very lovely Jo who has been blogging for two years and is also a friend of mine! She’s set the bar high, let’s hope I can carry on the good work…no pressure!
As many of my friends graduate this week, I’m looking forward to blogging throughout my fourth and final year of studying at the University of Leicester until (fingers crossed) I complete my degree and step into the world of graduates myself!
So, let me introduce myself! I’m 21 years young and when I’m not in Leicester or travelling the world you’ll find me in Guildford, a lively town about 40 minutes South of London. As I’m half Australian I also spend as much time as possible back in my second home Sydney when I a) have the money and b) can face the 24 hour flight.
This time last month I’d just finished my third year abroad and I can’t believe it’s over. From September 2013 – June 2014 I was living the life of a teaching assistant in Gran Canaria in the autonomous Canaries region of Spain but closer to Africa in terms of location! You’ll no doubt hear more about my ERASMUS experience in future blog posts.
That’s all for now, but you can expect more about what ‘university life’ means to me (think societies, sport and shopping) and don’t forget to post your comments and questions below – I’d love to hear from you!
