As we begin to accustom ourselves to the busy schedule that university life has to offer, there is one thing that we should all be prepared to indulge in; good, heavenly restaurants. This is why I have compiled a list of my favourite restaurants in Leicester which will hopefully provide you with some useful suggestions, especially for those of you that have recently settled.
So, in no particular order, I present to you my favourite restaurants in Leicester:
Kobe Sizzlers– Situated near our university, Kobe Sizzlers is one of Leicester busiest restaurants. You normally need to call in advance to book your table otherwise be prepared to wait up to an hour or two depending on the time. The food is definitely worth it and even as I’m writing this, I’m craving their crispy prawns which are simply delicious!
Jones– From my experience, this restaurant is normally packed with students so there is always a chance you might bump into a fellow coursemate or two. It’s situated in Queens Road, where most students tend to rent during their second and third years. My favourite dish so far is their Avocado Brunch (I do love avocado) but there is a great variety available so there is definitely something for everyone!
Nando’s– Who doesn’t like Nando’s? Honestly, I am still upset that they do not have a Nando’s here in Spain. We have four in Leicester so I guess you could say we are spoiled where Nando’s is concerned. I can’t wait to go back just to taste that delicious chicken again. Nothing more needs to be said…
San Carlo– If you are looking to celebrate then look no further than San Carlo’s! With its elegant decor and exquisite menu, it is an excellent choice to commemorate a special event; however, do keep in mind that it is a bit pricier than the rest especially on a student budget.
Bills– A great restaurant with a cosy atmosphere, ideal if you want to sit down and have a good conversation while enjoying a pleasant meal.
Fes mangal- Although it isn’t as near as the others, Fes mangal is a great place if you are looking for a delicious, affordable and healthier option.
TGIF– The perfect place to celebrate birthdays. The staff’s energy and enthusiasm are what makes TGIF the ideal place to go to when celebrating birthdays. It is also a great choice for a night out with friends.
