Between 20-22 March there was a car show in Budapest. The main theme was modified cars. However due to several factors one hall was devoted entirely to classic cars. And this is where yours truly came into the picture. In my last blog entry, I mentioned the sponsor to my forthcoming exhibition. Well, this organisation was also sponsoring the classic car section of the car show. So they asked me to create a text panel in order to promote my exhibition. I checked with the Museum and they had no objection.
Then two days later the president of the Association of Historic Vehicles called and asked me whether I would create at least four or five text panels for the show. I said, sure. That was a Monday. As it turned out on Thursday their deadline was Friday. My collegaue, the art editor of magyjarmu.hu was putting together the text panels for me when his computer died. So it was quite the madness. Then all text panels were finished and printed. Many of them were prepared appropriately. Except for one, the one which was promoting the exhibition. Luckily I was made aware of the situation and with some persuasion the last text panel was finished by midnight before the official opening of the show.

I am also working on my third Context Chapter. This one will be very heavy and filled with museology terms. I am no longer terrified by the subject, but it takes a lot of reading. So I am wiring my brain again. I have a dozen books scattered around, from Past is foreign country to The Birth of the Museum: History, Theory, Politics. My plan is talk more about this in my next blog entry.
