The universe has smiled on me
At the beginning of January I found an interesting conference. Though I was a bit late submitting an application to be a speaker, I tried my luck. It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my PhD journey.
And now I am working in a Museum!
A part of the PhD experience is the chance to enhance our professional careers. Now I am a very proud museum professional. Now time management becomes a more serious issue than ever before
I am still here!
It’s been 7 weeks since my last blog entry. My guilty conscience bugs me all the time – tells me that I should write something useful, inspiring and moving. Unfortunately I can’t do any of these. I can tell you that my pilot field study went smoothly. Research went well, results are encouraging. My next […]
Thinking about the future
This may sound repetitive, but in light of recent events, I would like to share again some key points on why I am doing my PhD. Plus I give a thumbs up to the library. So, I’m 42. I have a safe job, a beautiful wife, two naughty kids. We live in a nice house […]
Progress report and more new projects
Seems like I can’t stop myself. Over the weekend I became a member of a small comittee aimed at organising a very nice and exceptional classic car meeting in Balatonfüred. What’s this got to do with my PhD? Oh, a lot. Allow me to invite you back in time. 18 years ago in 1997 I […]

Photo history, Archives in Hungary
Yesterday Dissertation Reviews published my short overview of Hungarian Archives. A couple hours later a press release was published by the University of Northern Iowa on their great new project. In other words: it’s time for a new blog entry! Let me wish all my readers Happy New Year with a nice Christmas photo. Hope […]
And my first context chapter is done
Yes, it is true. I have managed to put together an 8000-word long essay, which is up to the high standards of the School of Museum Studies. Now I can enjoy the nice meals my wife is preparing for Christmas and play with my kids. Oh, wait. It is now official. My professor praised my […]
FIVA conference and my first Context Chapter
Being a Distance Learning student has its advantages and disadvantages. Facebook groups, mailing lists et. al. can’t make up for the lack of a participating in live debates. But that is the price one has to pay if he’s going to chase his dreams. This was put into sharp focus on Friday evening. Usually I […]
