And so my journey ends
Almost five years have passed since I first arrived to Leicester. I excited, determined and a slightly bit worried about my abilities. But the University of Leicester embraced me and made sure that I will perform to the best of my abilities. And now, I am a Doctor of Philosophy*

It has been almost a year since may last post. I have not dropped out, I just became quite busy. But I have great news to report. And I wanted to write this blog post since November…
I am still here!
It’s been 7 weeks since my last blog entry. My guilty conscience bugs me all the time – tells me that I should write something useful, inspiring and moving. Unfortunately I can’t do any of these. I can tell you that my pilot field study went smoothly. Research went well, results are encouraging. My next […]
When it’s a burden, don’t do it
Hey, ladies and gentlemen, it’s 2016! Already. Let me wish you all a Happy New Year! It’s been more than two years since I started my PhD journey. The same time span can also be mentioned about me blogging here. Writing blog entries was at times challenging, at other times fun, but it’s never been […]
The research is new, but the challenge is the same
If everything goes according to plans, on 30 November I will start my first field trip. I will conduct research at the Technisches Museum in Vienna. I am already excited and I try to get prepared. And that was my Probation Review
“You will only be expected to visit the Leicester campus for your Advanced Postgraduate (APG) status review; which must be completed after 24 months of registration,” says the Uni website. And I complied. To sum it up: I passed. And I did not pass out! The Probation Review was nothing like I ever expected. Two […]

If anyone from the University of Leicester is in Budapest on 3 June and interested in the history of cars, I’d be happy if (s)he could join us at the Museum of Trade and Hospitality. My first ever exhibition will be opened there.

Burning the midnight oil
Between 20-22 March there was a car show in Budapest. The main theme was modified cars. However due to several factors one hall was devoted entirely to classic cars. And this is where yours truly came into the picture. In my last blog entry, I mentioned the sponsor to my forthcoming exhibition. Well, this organisation […]
Thinking about the future
This may sound repetitive, but in light of recent events, I would like to share again some key points on why I am doing my PhD. Plus I give a thumbs up to the library. So, I’m 42. I have a safe job, a beautiful wife, two naughty kids. We live in a nice house […]
Progress report and more new projects
Seems like I can’t stop myself. Over the weekend I became a member of a small comittee aimed at organising a very nice and exceptional classic car meeting in Balatonfüred. What’s this got to do with my PhD? Oh, a lot. Allow me to invite you back in time. 18 years ago in 1997 I […]
