Hey.
I have been really lazy lately with studying, whether it is my completing my case study or online Pebble e-portfolio. The sunny weather doesn’t help because i just feel like drinking iced coffee and watching Hannibal. A weird combination i know.
An action plan must be put in place. I have started writing a notebook of information about drugs used in anaesthesia which is in progress.
‘Drugs in Anaesthesia and Intensive care’ by Edward Scarth and Susan Smith is really helpful and available at the uni library.
I also use the BNF for reference and there is lots of really good resources on the uni library website and physical copies on the bookshelf which i prefer.
It is also really good to use a template created on Word and include details such as;
- Drug use,
- Indications,
- Contraindications,
- Doses; Oral, I.V, I.M etc
- Side effects
Keel it cheerful and colourful And the information concise to make it easier tonread and remember. You can also group drugs together such as Induction agents, local Anaesthetic etc.
This would be really helpful throughout my journey as a student as i can add to it as i come across more drugs in different specialties. Many staff have told me that they wrote a book like this too and still refer to it from time to time.
I need to stop being so lazy. I have perfected the skill of procrastination.
