For anyone with an interest in the theoretical side of astrophysics, take a look at this simulation created by Leicester PhD student Tom Hands. It features all the planetary systems with a single star that have been found to date – over 1000 of them! And speaking of spectacular simulations, check out this article on the BBC about a visual simulation showing the early evolution of our universe. This simulation can now be used to investigate current theories on dark matter and galaxy formation. It really is an exciting time to start a career in astrophysics!
