The Easter break just started and of course I’m ill, that seems to be the way things always go. We have 4-5 weeks away from lectures which sounds like a ridiculous amount of time to fill but it really goes by fast! I need to complete optional module assignments, core term tests and part of the Group Research Project Report that five of us are writing together. Oh yeah, and I have to revise for 4 exams that will take place in May/June. Combine all these pieces of stress with family and personal problems and plans with friends back home makes me just want to curl up in a ball and sleep. My first week off has definitely gone that way and blogging hasn’t been a priority at all.
I am looking into trying to get some therapy now for some problems I have but I wish I had sought it out before I felt so bad. Leicester has a counselling service but it’s often oversubscribed and appointments are limited to about 6 sessions a year which isn’t that great if you continue to need someone to talk to. I saw a counsellor in my first year and it helped a little but ended quite abruptly when I think I probably needed continued support. A new addition at the university is a drop in service called Headspace for problems with stress and anxiety. I think this is great for those who need a little bit of guidance or reassurance but don’t feel that they need to go to counselling or therapy.

*EDIT* Since writing this post I booked a counselling appointment very easily, despite it being a busy time of year, so if you need to see someone quickly I would really recommend you give it a try.
