“Time is of the essence.” “So much to do, so little time.” “All the time in the world.”
Time is a massive factor in our lives. It dictates our whole existence. It tells us when we should be places, when we eat, when we sleep. It’s pretty much in control. And it’s always playing on our minds.
It’s hard to believe that semester two is almost over. My dissertation came back last week. I got a 2:1 which I was really pleased with! This time next week, I will have handed in the last piece of coursework of my university career. That scares me.
They say time flies when you’re having fun and whilst watching the rugby varsity against DeMontfort University yesterday, surrounded by some of my closest friends, I started to think back over the last three years. It’s like a movie. It takes ages to film but the finished product is a lot shorter than you imagined. I can remember times, particularly during my second year, when it felt like time was really dragging on and I wished it would hurry up. At other moments, it’s all happened too fast and I wished that it would have slowed down. It hasn’t necessarily always been easy but I’ve spent so much more time laughing and having fun that the harder aspects of university life seem less important. I guess it’s the same with everything. When you think back, you only really remember the good times.
There is one thing I know for sure. There is nothing about my time at university that I would change.
Although I’m still not entirely sure what I will do after I graduate in 111 days time, I’ve got many options open to me. But first, I’ve got to sit my finals and finish this sociology essay. It’s almost over but there’s still a lot to be done, so I’ll leave it here for now…I’m going to need all the time I’ve got!
Well done
you did great
So what is it really like studying at leicester? Im not sure if i want to go there.. how could you sell it to me..?
im from Birmingham too btw
Hi Zahra!
Thanks very much.
I love studying at Leicester, and I genuinely mean that. I can’t fault the teaching staff or the course that I’ve studied and I’ve learnt a lot about myself over the three years I’ve been here.
It’s a great campus, not too small but still fairly compact and there’s always loads to do.
Do you know what subject you would like to study yet?
As a city, Leicester is quite a bit smaller than Birmingham but I like that because it’s a different experience, especially when it comes to shopping!!
Let me know if you have any more questions, I’d be more than happy to help you in any way I can 🙂
Sarah
Well done on the dissertation Sarah, that’s an awesome mark!
