Leicester, it’s been a pleasure!

Last week I celebrated my graduation from University and as a result, this will be my final blog post. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about my experiences and that you may have been inspired by at least one thing I’ve written.

Graduation Outfit!

Graduation was a weird, yet wonderful experience. It was a great opportunity to see friends and celebrate our successes. It was a time to say goodbye and good luck. It was confirmation of the end, that University is now over, but it also came with the promise of an amazing future. During the closing speech of the ceremony we were reminded that the University of Leicester is great because we, it’s graduates, make it so, that even though we are moving on into our futures we will continue to be ambassadors for the University. I’m proud to say that I have graduated from Leicester because in my three years here I have learned so much, not just academically but also about myself.

Looking back to my first blog post at the start of my final year – Psychological Investigations – I wrote:

“I’m taking on the challenge to work as hard as I can, to be the best that I can be, because if there’s one thing I’ve learnt since I started at the University of Leicester, it is that my future is bright because I have the chance to make it so.”

I believe that I took that challenge with both hands, worked as hard as I could, became the best version of myself and now, graduating with a Second Class Honours Upper Division (2:1) in BSc Psychology with Sociology, I do have a bright future. I have a job to go to, which will help me towards a career in Psychology, and I can’t wait!!

University has gone way too fast but it’s been the best three years of my life and I’ve enjoyed every second. For those coming here in September, or to anyone thinking of applying – go for it, make the most of it and be the best that you can be. It might not always be easy but when you walk across the stage on the day of your graduation, it will all be totally worth it.

BSc Psychology With Sociology Class of 2012

Congratulations Class of 2012 and Good Luck for the future.
