was not my original aim when going to Costa Coffee to work… however it is strange to settle in a working environment you aren’t used to. Although my nosiness got the better of me and I started to listen in on an interview across the room (to be fair, the interviewer was speaking REALLY LOUDLY), eventually I got bored of procrastinating and got stuck into my essay.
I ended up having an incredibly productive afternoon! It is nice to discover a place where I can work and apart from the initial distractions, actually focus. I am definitely going to start working in coffee shops more often. I guess, i’m not with people I’d chat to and because I’ve gone all the way there, I’d feel stupid if I didn’t work. It may have taken me up to third year to find a place where I can be productive, but at least I’ve found something that works for me now I guess, as I tell ya- this year is already pretty manic.
I don’t know why it always happens this way, where I’m eased into a term with hardly anything to do and then boooom, loads of assignment deadlines heading my way…but it does. I submitted a 2500 sociology essay last week and have just finished another 2000 word essay late last night. However, both of these I have done before the deadline, compared to a last minute rush like was often the case last year. I think it’s because there is more work last year. I still have three 800 words pieces for a sociology portfolio in December and a 6000 word project to do for January which I haven’t done much on yet so it’s worth keeping up with things as I want a Christmas holiday!!
Going back to London on Thursday and can’t wait. Missing my family a bit at the moment so will be lovely to see them 🙂 Out tonight aswell, for the first time in ages, as I have been very ill, so it should be fun! Work hard, play hard I guess 🙂
