Hello! I know I’ve been a bit silent lately, but the problem was that I went home and realised I had nothing to do! Sure it was nice being home, seeing my family and some friends, and overall not having to worry about food and bills. And I missed my mountains so much (I live near the Alps)…but yeah, after I while, having nothing to do started to weight on me. Sooo I came back a week ago, as I had been hired as a Graduation Helper! 😀
Basically, last week (from the 15th to the 18th) we had Graduation Ceremonies and receptions for all the departments. And in case you were wondering, that means A LOT of people! I thought it was gonna be similar to the job as Ambassador, but it was so much harder! Our jobs were various, like receiving guests at the entrance, helping catering serving Pimm’s (which I had never tried before!) and cleaning up tables, and collecting Future Plans forms from students. There was so much to take care of, including setting up in the morning, and clearing everything up and closing the venue in the evening.
It was exhausting at times, but I absolutely loved it! I think it’s mostly because of our team of Graduation Helpers. I’ve met so many nice and interesting people, and being surrounded by such pleasant coworkers made it so much easier and enjoyable. Especially since we had to face some major challenges, like, for instance, having to bear 30° while walking around a marquee in full uniform! But it was a great experience, I’m so glad I applied for it. It was amazing though, seeing all the students in their graduation robes knowing that I will be there next year! And seeing so many people I knew graduating! I got great memories from this experience 🙂
Oh, the picture is from the Fun Photo Booth we had in the marquee (I’m the girl with the shark hat)!
