So, if I remember correctly A-Level results are supposed to come out tomorrow! Good luck to all those waiting for good news, I’m sure you did great! 🙂
This reminds me of the summer before my first Year. Since I am Italian, my exams followed the Italian education system, and my results were a lot different and came out aaages before the English ones. Basically, to cut a long story short, we have finals as well, although the subjects and methods are a bit different. For instance, exams involve an hour-long conversation with a committee of teachers (some you’ve never seen before), during which you are expected to deliver a presentation of a topic of your choice, e.g. mine was “Psychological Techniques of Mass Control During Nazism” (I was very proud), and then answer their whatever questions. Your final score is calculated in %, and this happens in June/July, so by the beginning of July I already knew my score. It was high, but a few points below the requested one. And the thing is, I had to wait for English A-levels results to come out before I knew whether I had made it or not! It was a stessful summer, but the night before A-levels was absolutely terrible. I wanted to come to England so badly! I remember I stayed online til 4am, checking alternative Clearing options, ranking them by preference and saving all telephone numbers and contacts just in case. Luckily, when I woke up my place at Leicester had been confirmed, and I remember I couldn’t stop laughing I was so happy. 🙂 I hope things will work out for you just like they worked out for me!
By the way, if you want to contact the University of Leicester about Clearing options, I have their website: www.le.ac.uk/clearing (the vacancies will be updated Wednesday afternoon 13th August).
And I have some telephone numbers as well, for both Clearing and Adjustment! If you need any help or direction, don’t hesitate to ask! Best of luck to all of you! 😀
