Hello! I’m finally back in Leicester! My parents flew here with me and stayed for a couple of days, mainly to help me get rid of spiders around the house (I’m working on my fear, I swear) and so that they could eat fish&chips. I think it was worth it 😉
Now I’m trying to get back to my routine, including revising, working as an Ambassador, staying up late with my housemates and going to the gym!
Speaking of the gym, I went there on Monday and realised that my card had expired! Yeah it wasn’t a nice surprise, mainly because you can only buy it online, so I kinda left my stuff in a locker at the library went to town instead. Ups. It’s all sorted now, and since I’m here I should probably tell you that the gold membership, the one that gives you access to the machines and pool, costs £20 less if you buy it before October 4th! So that would be £190. I know it’s a lot, but there are some perks. Well first of all, no matter what sport you do, if you need a court you will have to buy a gym membership (the cheapest is £100). So you might as well get the best one if you think you’re gonna use it. Also, we have two gyms; one on campus (the Danielle Brown Sports Centre) and one near the Oadby accommodation site (The Roger Bettles Centre on Manor Road), so it’s very easy to reach the gym if you’re around uni or your accommodation…which helps you a lot in cases of loss of motivation. 😉 Personally, I use the one on campus a lot. It’s amazing to know you can just reach it in 5 minutes after lectures (or before, if you’re brave enough). So yeah, it’s a lot of money, but if you’re into exercising, it’s definitely worth it!
If you have any questions about the gym please just ask, I can definitely be of help! 🙂
