Only 3 days left before I fly back to Italy! I gotta say, this year I’m overly excited about going home. I’ve never been the homesick type, but this term has been incredibly stressful and I just want to see my family. Besides, I can’t wait to have someone cooking for me and looking after me. 😉 And I’ve been feeling so Christmassy as well!! The city centre is lovely, and the road I walk to go to and from uni (Queens Road) is full of Christmas lights!
Before everyone leaves a lot of people organise Christmas dinners to celebrate the end of term. And this made me realise how many different groups of friends I have here! I’ve had four Christmas/celebration dinners in less than a week; I’ve never eaten so much during any other time at university! 😀 And I’m fully appreciating traditional English Christmas foods! 😉 I’ve had a proper Christmas dinner with my housemates last week. We had the whole package: chicken, pigs in blankets, Yorkshire puddings, vegetables, roasted potatoes, stuffing, gravy, apple and cranberry sauce, and even strudel for dessert! It was maaassive! And we even had Christmas crackers ahah! It only worked out to cost £5 each, so definitely within a student’s budget.
I posted a picture so you can get an idea!
It’s been a fun week, and I have a few more days of meeting with friends and sorting out a few things before flying back. I love all this social activity, but I also can’t wait to be able to relax, take some time off and revise from under the blankets with some hot chocolate!
