Hey guys, this morning I woke up early to see the solar eclipse! đ It was so nice, people organised a small event in Victoria Park, with stands selling breakfast and lots of people getting together! I say small, but actually over 1,800 people are supposed to attend according to the Facebook event! Impressive, but it was lovely, and luckily I met some people I knew who had solar glasses with them (they sold out so quickly!), so I got to see it properly. But thatâs not what I wanted to talk to you about!
In the past few weeks we (students) have been hearing a lot about the National Student Survey (NSS). Weâve received emails, mail, seen posters on campus and had lecturers talking to us about it. You would think this could be slightly annoying, but I disagree. Iâve completed the survey as soon as it came out, so now I can just ignore email and mail and random reminders with a light heart! đ Besides, it takes literally 10 minutes to write your answers. Most of them are just about ticking boxes, giving opinions and grades on various aspects of your university. These aspects are common sense things like your course, your campus, your life at university, the level of structure within it⌠I did it weeks ago so I donât remember exactly, but you get an idea.
From what I hear, a lot of students donât take this survey seriously (judging by the amount of reminders we get) and I really donât get why. In your third year you MUST have an opinion on things, right? Â How could you not? If the opinion is positive, itâs worth letting your university (and the general public) know that youâre happy with what youâve spent a great deal of money on. If itâs not positive, then you get the chance to rant and suggest ways of making it better. Why is it so difficult?
Besides, its results are super important for prospective students too. Think when you were choosing the university you wanted to go to! I remember looking for every piece of information I could find, such data are invaluable in order to make a choiceâŚ! So yeah, if you still have to complete this survey, believe me, this type of âprocrastinationâ is not worth it. Just do it! đ Here’s the link:
