Since I’m writing my dissertation and revising for my upcoming exams, I’m trying to work as little as possible. I love my job as an Ambassador too much, it’s actually upsetting having to refrain from requesting shifts! Nonetheless, I decided to take a couple of days off so I could work on a massive event that took place on campus on the 22nd and 23rd: the UCAS Convention. With over 160 university and college exhibitors present on campus and over 9000 visitors, it was a very interesting and hectic experience! I was assigned 10 exhibitors inside the tent they set up outside the Charles Wilson library as usual. I was tasked with making sure everything ran smoothly and they had a pleasant experience. That involved getting rid f their rubbish, bringing them tea and coffee, giving directions and sometimes even just have a chat with them! I had some very lovely conversations, and it was so nice to hear them thank me by name before they left! 😀 I love my job!
But having two 8+ hours shifts one right after the other was beyond tiring. Good thing we had some amazing weather, with sunshine and actual heat! Even though that meant I had to run back and forth bringing water to everyone… but hey, I have no intention of complaining! I wish the weather stayed like this for a while, although I would barely be able to enjoy it as much as I would like to. The deadline for my dissertation is approaching, and I’d better go write up my Results section! 😉
