Technically speaking, I am already a graduate student. My dissertation has come back (I got a 1st!!) and my exams are done, although I will know how they went on the 30th of this month. Therefore, my university work is finished! And now I need to think about preparing for my Graduation Ceremony.
The Psychology Ceremony will take place on the 17th of July. Thankfully I’ve known this for a while, so my parents were able to book their plane tickets before prices went up! My sister is coming too, and hopefully she’ll be able to see the ceremony. This is because every student is automatically allocated 2 guest tickets, but if we want more we need to apply for them, and applying does not guarantee you will be given the number of tickets requested. 🙁 I will know how many tickets I have been allocated at the beginning of July, fingers crossed!
I already confirmed I am going to attend the ceremony, as well as the informal reception which follows it! 😀 I remember working at the reception last summer; I believe I wrote a blog post about my role as a Graduation Helper! It was so much fun, and it was such a great environment. All the students are celebrating and taking pictures, there’s food and drinks, and parents and lecturers everywhere! I want to say goodbye to some great lecturers, especially my dissertation supervisor. It would be fun to make him meet my parents, although that would also be quite difficult, as my parents don’t speak fluent English. Anyway, it’s gonna be amazing! Now the only thing I still need to take care of is ordering my graduation robes. The deadline is the 23rd of June if anyone is interested, I didn’t realise that and had to take my measures today! I had to measure my height and head circumference, and I’m ready to place my order. Then I’m set! It’s gonna look so good! 😉
After this is done, I can finally leave without major worries. Oh, I’m leaving for Amsterdam this week, so I finally get to relax for a bit. I finished the training for my NCS summer job, and I’ll deal with more applications when I come back. But right now I just want to enjoy a bit of summer! 🙂
