As part of our psychology degree at UoL we’re required to participate in a variety of experiments usually conducted by 3rd year students as part of their dissertations – otherwise known as EPR. Each term we need to achieve a set number of points in order to achieve 5% of our module marks, so I thought I’d give you guys a low down on what experiments I’ve partook in this term!
– Decision making study
– Personal response to extreme weather conditions questionnaire
– Attitudes Towards People With Special Educational Needs questionnaire
– The Effects of Watching Pokémon Cartoons
– Personality attributes questionnaire
– Maturity, development & belief changes during uni questionnaire
– Questionnaires for those with Divorced Parents
– Sexting Behaviour with a cheating partner and Psychological Wellbeing questionnaire
– Neural Stimulation Adult Screening questionnaire
– Online behaviours, self-esteem and empathy questionnaire
– Social Connectedness and Psychological well-being questionnaire
– Moral Reasoning, Parenting and Delinquent Behaviour questionnaire
– Resilience Study questionnaire
– Resilience In Education questionnaire
– Well-being Study questionnaire

The majority of my EPR points were gained through online questionnaires so it was a fairly easy process. (The only physical studies were the decision making and Pokemon study). However the majority of questionnaires were on the 15 minute border – meaning they’re not something you want to carry out last minute. I made the mistake last year of leaving my EPR to very late in the term. This meant binge completing questionnaires for 3 days straight – a very tedious process. I would therefore HIGHLY recommend starting your EPR’s straight away allowing the process to be spread out allowing for minimal time consumption!
