Something I was really anxious about before starting uni was my timetable. I’ve never been the most luckiest with timetables across my two years at college (I always had early starts and late finishes with so many hours free in between!)
But it seems like luck is now on my side (she says) seeing I quite like my timetable for this semester. As a BA Sociology student you have 9 contact hours in the week, yes this is considerably less compared to other subjects and courses, but most of the work with a sociology degree requires independent reading. Hence only 9 hours in lectures and seminars. However, this doesn’t mean that you only see your lectureres and seminar tutors then, they all have drop in hours where they operate an open office system where you can drop in and speak to them. Plus they are all very accessible via email.
My 9 hours are spread out across four days (oh, how I love my lie-ins on a Tuesday) and I only have one 9am start!
Just a word of warning, not everyone gets a day off in the week (I know course mates who don’t) and any free time should be used wisely!

And this is what my timetable looks like! Green blocks are lectures and red blocks are seminars! Both lectures and seminars are a hour long.
