2 weeks till the end of the first semester!!!
How quickly has time flown by?! It was only two months ago that I was writing my pre freshers blog post. Here we are with two weeks to go till the Christmas holidays (so thats 12 lectures and 6 seminars). But the end of the semester also means the dreaded D, the dreaded deadlines 🙁
For a BA Sociology student you’re assessed mainly via essays, which for some is a God send. I certainly feel they are but only once I’m done with them. For two out of the three modules this semester, they are essay assessed and for the third module its assessed via an exam in January.
However, essays are a ‘long term stress’. Though having all the hours to work on them is great, it means having all the hours to stress about them, especially seeing both modules want 3,000 word essays (one module has spilt the 3,000 words between two different essays). So this has meant I have three essays to write which are all due in the same day…
Me being me, I have stressed non stop. Writing university essays has been so so different to previous essays I have written, so it has been a learning curve. So one way, I’ve found helpful to boot the stress has been to hit gym. Now, there are student membership options but I’ve not invested in one as I’m someone who cannot commit to going a certain number of times a week. So I use the pay as you go option which is £4 per visit. Good value for money if you ask me. Spend as long as you want in the gym for £4, can’t go wrong.
