Leicester is a great place to be around the Christmas period. You can really feel it in the atmosphere and most definitely around the city centre.
The lights are up and get switched on as soon it starts to get dark. The little nativity decorations are up in front of the town hall, surrounding the fountain. What officially declares Christmas in Leicester is the huge tree that is erected in the middle of town by the clock tower, and the tree is most definitely up and well decorated this year (last years decoration on the tree is something we’d rather not talk about).
But Leicester has upped its game to get us all in mood for the festive period by giving us all an ice rink!!! Now let’s be fair, it’s what the city has been missing out on. I am slightly disappointed that the ice rink is only here for the festive period but I guess that is better than not having one at all. The information for the ice rink can be found here: https://www.visitleicester.info/whats-on/jubilee-square-ice-rink-p725121
