If I was to be asked if I had any bad habits it would be that I drink too much coffee. My day does not start without it and my day is not complete till I’ve consumed at least another two cups from my morning fix.
With the university being so centrally located, it is in the ideal place to visit some little gems where the speciality is coffee and you can mix that with being social or just to get your head down to get some work done!
My favourite three places to grab a coffee are:
- Costa – This is one of the most recognisable coffee brands across the globe and we so lucky to have two on our doorsteps. My favourite one is the one on Queens Road just across campus from Victoria Park. It is spacious, has free wifi and plenty of plug points to charge them laptops and get a good deal of work done.
- Brü – This gem is located in the city centre, so slightly further in terms of distance than Costa but it is definitely worth the extra five minute walk! Not only is it known for the coffees they serve but also the wide variety of savoury food and desserts! (The desserts are a must!) Again, very spacious and also has free wifi which means you can sit down with your favourite beverage and either get some work done or catch up with a friend or two.
- 200° – My last little gem is the furthest from campus than the other two but again, not too far either. The best way to decree this place is that it is the most picturesque coffee shop I think Leicester has to offer. Their coffees are rich and strong in a very pleasant way and theres an instant warmth as soon as you walk in!
