Like, REALLY hate packing. So instead of getting things ready to move out of my student house for the summer, I thought I’d get this blog up and running.
Hi there! My name is Hâf and I study French with Film Studies here at the University of Leicester. Fortunately, as a language student it’s compulsory to spend my third year abroad, so come the end of August I’ll be leaving the country to spend the year studying at the University of Avignon, France with the aim of improving my language skills and gaining life experience. It’s an exciting time! But I’ll be honest with you guys, I’m terrified…
This is why I’m thankful to have the opportunity to blog for the university website while I’m away, as I’m sure there are many of you out there who, like me, are equally excited and petrified at the prospect of spending a year abroad. Moving away from home in Wales to university was tough enough, so I know this is going to be an even bigger challenge! Hopefully I’ll have some interesting anecdotes to tell along the way, lots of photos to show, and maybe even some tips for survival.
Feel free to ask me any questions about going on a year abroad, anything French or Film related, or even about what it’s like to be a student at Leicester. I’ve had two happy years here and will hopefully have another when I return for my final year.
That’s it for now. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
