I have just arrived at Strasbourg and I’m burning with excitement (yes burning, this heat is ridiculous).
Waking up this morning, I wasn’t sure how to feel, leaving my family behind and embarking on this adventure. After 3 days of packing and repacking, trying to see what was essential to take and what wasn’t. I dint know what to expect of Strasbourg. I certainly did not expect this heat. I checked the weather before arriving and I knew that it was warmer than England, but i did not expect Africa’s heat to be here. It is so hot and dry and right now all my windows and doors are open.
Aside from the heat, I absolutely love this place. I will grow to love this heat once I buy the appropriate clothing. I love the fact that for the first time, I didn’t feel my usual fear of height as the plane was taking off or landing. I love the fact that the people are so friendly and lovely. I love the fact that they try to accommodate my English when I should be trying to speak their French. I know I should be speaking more French, but I’m slightly shy as I’ve never spoken French with a genuine French person that wasn’t my French teacher. Looking out of the window from the plane, I was so excited to see all the little neighboring villages that I plan to explore.
I can’t wait to get to know the people and the city. I cant wait to explore France and Europe.
