So this week, the weather has been absolutely amazing. Sunshine all round, everyone dressed for the weather in beautiful outfits. This is when I realised that Strasbourg is very stylish, the kind of style and fashion sense that beats Paris and might even rival London (I said might). All throughout winter all that was seen was huge scarfs, jackets and boots. And now that winter is over (thank God) everyone seems to be showing off their sense of style. As someone who loves clothes so much that she is doing her dissertation on fashion and style, this week has been my best week in Strasbourg. I have been going to the city centre every single day to meet up with some friends and do some shopping. I’m almost sad that I left the better half of my wardrobe in London, however, this does mean that I can buy new clothes.
Which is exactly what I’ve been doing. Another aspect of this new stylishness is the shops. The new season clothing are absolutely spectacular. I have spent more money that I should have on clothes this week alone. I wish that I was employed with a real job where I can afford to buy all these amazing outfits, and more importantly somewhere to wear them to. Being a student, there are very few opportunities to wear exquisite dresses because I rarely get invited to black tie events. My university wardrobe is basically just jeans and hoodies, with three different scarfs to give my outfits some variety.
I’m so glad that I discovered another aspect of Strasbourg, one that is shocking to say the least. I mean, you rarely expect a small town on the border to France to have such a great sense of Fashion. Marie Antoinette would be proud.
