Sometimes after completing a plethora of assignments, you decide to treat yourself and I definitely have a habit of treating myself with sweet things. While in Sydney I’ve had the pleasure of trying many sweet treats that I would highly recommend.
Chocolateria San Churro
My go to would have to be the funnel cake topped with ice cream, strawberries, white chocolate and berry coulis which is absolutely amazing. My friends have also enjoyed the Churros Fondue where you are able to dip churros and fruit into warm melted chocolate. The actual ice cream scoops they sell aren’t actually anything special (I bought one and had many regrets) but I would definitely recommend the restaurant especially if you are a lover of churros, chocolate and sweet things.
Pancakes on the Rocks
The place to go in Sydney if you want delicious pancakes (in my opinion). I’ve only been to this place once because it’s a little far from where I live but I would definitely go again. I had the Strawberry Patch pancakes which were so good and they have a bunch of other flavours which you may enjoy depending on your taste.
Max Brenner Chocolate Bar
Max Brenner’s are so common in Sydney but I think it is a little overpriced so it took me while before I figured it was time to stop being cheap and actually discover what I was missing. Max Brenner is definitely a bar worth visiting. When I went, I had the Tutti Fruitti Waffle which I shared with a friend (it worked out cheaper haha) which was delicious. There are so much more (better and expensive) things that I would love to try at Max Brenner and if you’re studying abroad in Sydney, I would encourage you to try them too.
iCreamy Artisan Gelato
This place serves AMAZING gelato and that’s not due to the taste. iCreamy goes above and beyond to shape their gelato into flower petals which not only look good but taste good too. Plus, the price is reasonable and it’s Instagram worthy. Are you sold now?
Lindt Chocolate Café
I did a whole blog post about this already so you should definitely check that out. And if you love Lindt as much as I love Lindt, then you already know what you need to do.
Anywhere that sells Freakshakes
What is a Freakshake you ask? A freakshake is a milkshake which is decorated with edible items stacked on top of it. I’ve tried freakshakes at two places: Pâtissez in Canberra and Point 99 which is near Macquarie University and they both met my expectations. At Point 99 I got the Strawberry flavoured thickshake (are you sensing a pattern?) which came with an ice cream drumstick on top, strawberry wafer straws, cream and candy floss and at Pâtissez I believe I got the mint chocolate freakshake with an ice cream sandwich on top as well as cream and chocolate sauce. They were both amazing and super filling. I’ve also heard the Vogue Café do great freakshakes near Macquarie University.
So if you’re ever in need of a sugar kick or a sweet reward, I hope you follow my advice and indulge at your own risk. P.s. you’re welcome.
