‘Summer in the City’ (of Amsterdam)

There is so much to see in Amsterdam, it can kind of be overwhelming… so here is a list of a few things I have done in Amsterdam during this warm weather and I would thoroughly reccommend!

  1. Visit a beach

Amsterdam is so close to some beautiful beaches! 30- 40 mins on the tram and you’re right by the sea and can relax on some lovely sandy beaches. They have loads of bars and restaurants along them and they’re just generally really nice beaches.

2. Visit Amsterdam Bos

I have made many trips to Amsterdam Bos – it’s a huge park close to my student accommodation and it so lovely. As soon as the sun comes out, everybody flocks to the park! You can have a BBQ, rent a boat, sunbathe and there are even many festivals that take place there!

3. Go to a festival

I’ve never known any place to hold festivals as often as Amsterdam – there is genuinely one every weekend, probably several every weekend! Get on facebook events and have a look!

4. Rooftop bars

I’ve spoken about rooftop bars before, but Amsterdam has SO many. Two of my favourites are Canvas and The W Hotel. They’re free and easy to access and you can enjoy a nice drink whilst enjoying the city of Amsterdam!
